INTERNATIONAL ADVISORY GROUP

The International Advisory Group aims to lead, strengthen and expand the World Cultures and Global Studies program at CHEC.  The Group meets monthly to assess and refine the school's existing global studies curricular offerings and practices;  explores innovative ways to create engaging, cross-cultural international partnerships, foreign language teacher residencies and exchange opportunities for CHEC students. Committee members routinely broker new relationships with local embassies and their affiliates, secures venues for the CHEC Annual Scholarship Gala and raises funds in support of a widge range of services related to the global studies program at CHEC.  The Advisory Group also actively works to enhance the school's visibility in global and international programs within and beyond the District.

The Advisory Group bears ultimate responsibility for the continued growth and success of CHEC's World Languages and Global Studies program. The primary functions of the Board include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provides the Principal with strategic counsel, resource identification and solictation and relationship building expertise
  • Strives to compose itself to reflect the expertise and perspectives needed to achieve CHEC's global studies mission;
  • Develops itself through ongoing education, the recruitment of new members with diverse experiences and leadership succession planning;
  • Guides the development of long-range strategic plans and makes recommendations as necessary;
  • Works with the Principal in “Friend-raising” and “Fund-raising”;
  • Assists the school with the logistics and location support for CHEC's annual scholarship Gala
